The GSDA is cancelling the Bronze and Silver dressage competitions scheduled for the weekend of June 25th/26th. However, not all is lost. Instead, the GSDA will be hosting a “Percentage Days” weekend with the judge, Jenifer Klemm.
Percentage Days will run in a clinic format. Participants will ride a test and be judged as though in a competition. After completion of the test, the rider will return and the judge will work with the rider and horse to improve the test score. The cost per session is $100. If you are interested in participating please email gsda@persona.ca.
Auditors are welcome!

The 2011 prizelist for bronze and silver dressage competitions is now approved and available to competitors. Please check competition details page for prizelist, entry forms and stabling requests. We look forward to seeing everyone during the 2011 competition season and wish everyone the best of luck.

The GSDA will be hosting an evening of bowling on Saturday, June 11th at Buddha Bowl in Val Caron. Bowling will begin at 8 pm. Tickets are being sold at $10/person. All proceeds will go to support the GSDA 2011 competitions. Please contact gsda@persona.ca for more information. Come out for a night of fun and prizes to support the GSDA!

The GSDA is excited to announce their 2011 Bronze/Silver Dressage Competition show dates. The competitions will take place on the weekends of June 25th/26th and August 6th/7th. The judges will be Jenifler Klemm, EC ‘B’ and Elaine Potter, EC ‘M” respectively. The bronze and silver dressage competitions will run concurrently. In consideration of the recent outbreak of Strangles in the northeast, the GSDA would like members and fellow horsepeople to be informed about the characteristics of the disease, how it is spread and treatment/prognosis. Please take the time to read the article so that you know how to protect yourself and others from transmitting or acquiring Strangles.

Three horse and rider combinations represented the GSDA at the 2010 Western Trillium Championships on Saturday, September 18th at Blue Star Farm in Mount Albert. The combinations were Mia Perrin & Lotta, Patrick Battison & AF Khalifa, and Ashley Czerkas & AF Kal-El.
The GSDA would like to extend their congratulations to Mia Perrin & Lotta who were the Training Level Junior Champions and Patrick Battison & AF Khalifa who were the First Level Junior Champions. Additionally, Mia Perrin & Lotta received the high point award for juniors with a score of 70%. Also, Patrick Battison, Mia Perrin, Ashley Czerkas and their horses teamed up for the team competition. As a team, “Arabask” placed third.
Finally, the overall combined 2010 western and eastern trillium champions have not been posted by Cadora-Ontario. We are eagerly await the results and we will post them as soon as they are available!
